10 Effective Study Tips For 10th Board Preparation
Attempting the question paper properly in 10th boards examinations can help score high marks. Paper presentation is an important aspect and it must make an impact on the examiner that you know the subject well.
Subject wise tips-
- Mathematics-
Maths is the biggest fear of many students but you can ace maths easily by practising daily and by not getting scared of numbers. Maths is a highly scoring subject and one needs to be sure of concepts to ace maths.Maintain separate copy for formulas and revise them daily. Solve last year’s question papers and sample papers. Beware of the silly mistakes. Practise daily to get speed and accuracy. Focus on all the sums given in NCERT textbook.
- English-
Students generally have problems dealing with English subjects. When it comes to 10th board exams students tend to score low thus their overall percentage gets reduced.Tips are- Practice sample papers. Spend the reading time of 15 minutes reading the comprehensive passage and marking the answers of it. Work on writing skills.
- Social studies–
Social studies is a comprehensive subject containing civics, history, geography.Tips are reading all the chapters comprehensively. Make a flow chart of important dates, events and people for concise revision. Prepare the previous year’s papers. Map work needs to be practised.For 1 mark question only 1 point or 1 word and for 3 mark question 3 points with explanation and for 5 marks 5 points with explanation and write the headings and subheadings with black pen.

Science question papers contain very short answers (VSA), short answers (SA) and long answers (LA). It contains physics, chemistry and biology, giving the students a view on all the three aspects of science.Tips are to attempt all questions, Read questions properly and the marks allocation to each part and sub parts of the questions. Explain lengthy answers with examples and diagrams and draw diagrams with pencil with a proper eye catching labelling and Underline keywords of the answers.
Points that must be taken care when attempting 10th board paper:
1.Read and understand the question paper well and write the answers logically and comprehensively.
2.Use the 15 minutes of reading time effectively in understanding the questions and gathering a rough idea.
3.Attempt the easy questions first and then move to the manageable ones and ensure that you complete them before taking on the difficult ones. This will boost your confidence and increase the efficacy of answers.
4.Ensure time is managed well.
5.Use quick methods to ease calculations to ensure that no time is wasted.
6.While writing the answers, you need to make sure that you are using easy to understand and conceptual language.
7.Write your answer in a clean and legible handwriting, with proper spacing and punctuation.
8.Students should be left with 5-10 minutes in the end to revise the answers. And they should not waste their time and revise all your answers, in case of any calculation mistake or grammatical folly.
